How to use button jewellery

Planning to purchase our button jewellery? Read this:

Choose the right button jewellery:
Ensure your button fits the selected jewellery size. Not all buttons are compatible, so check that the jewellery comfortably aligns with your chosen button.

Practice first:
For your first use, try attaching the jewellery to a button that’s easy to reach—like one in the middle section of your clothing—before working with tighter buttons, such as a top collar button. This helps you get a feel for the attachment process.

Slide the jewellery onto the button:
Gently slide the button into the groove of the jewellery. The lip will secure the button in place, ensuring a firm and secure fit.

Check for a good fit:
Once attached, the jewellery should sit comfortably on the button without sliding. The recessed design will protect the button’s threads during use.

Remove with ease:
To remove, tilt the jewellery slightly and slide the button out of the groove.

In case you find yourself stuck:
If the jewellery feels stuck, you can lift the button manually using a fitting object, such as a pen, key, or similar tool. For better visibility, try turning the jewellery upside down and carefully work the button out.

Ring size guide

Yes, we are going to sell rings too!
Check here for the size chart.

Choosing the right ring size is essential for comfort and style. Here are a few tips to help you get an accurate measurement:

1. Consider Temperature

Finger size can fluctuate with changes in temperature, so it's best to measure your ring size when your hands are at a comfortable, room temperature. Cold weather can make your fingers shrink, while heat can cause them to swell.

2. Measure Multiple Times

Since your fingers can change size throughout the day, try measuring at different times to get the most accurate fit. Measuring in the afternoon, when your fingers are typically their largest, can help ensure the ring won't feel too tight.

3. Use a Ring That Fits

If you already own a ring that fits well on the same finger, use it as a guide. You can measure the inside diameter with a ruler or caliper for reference.

4. Consider Ring Width

Wider rings tend to feel tighter than narrow ones. If you're purchasing a wide band, you may want to size up slightly to ensure a comfortable fit.

5. DIY Measuring Tip

At home, you can measure your ring size by cutting a strip of flexible paper or string, wrapping it around the base of your finger, and marking where it overlaps. Then, measure the length and compare it to our sizing chart. Be sure to keep the paper or string snug but not too tight.

6. Professional Sizing

For the most accurate result, visit a jeweler who can measure your size using specialized tools. If you're still unsure, you can order a ring sizer to check your size multiple times before making a decision.

7. Adjustments

If your ring doesn't fit perfectly after purchase, don’t worry! It’s often possible to adjust the size slightly, depending on the design. Contact us for further advice on resizing.

Care guide for your jewellery

Keep your goodies in good shape:

  1. Wear with Care:
Sterling silver can scratch or tarnish over time. Avoid exposing your jewellery to harsh chemicals such as perfumes, lotions, or cleaning products, which can dull the finish.
  2. Cleaning your jewellery:
Gently clean your silver pieces using a soft polishing cloth to restore their shine. For more thorough cleaning, use a mild soap and lukewarm water solution. Rinse well and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive materials that can scratch the silver.
  3. Storing your jewellery:
When not in use, store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, ideally in a fabric-lined box or a soft pouch to prevent tarnishing and scratches. Storing pieces separately ensures they don’t rub against each other.
  4. Regular maintenance:
Exposure to air and moisture can cause silver to tarnish. If your jewellery becomes heavily tarnished, use a silver-specific cleaner to restore its shine. Be sure to follow the product’s instructions carefully, and use a soft cloth for application.

By following these care instructions, your ONKO jewellery will continue to shine and be a lasting part of your style for years to come.
